Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using Ridgeline (“the app”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the app. These Terms apply to all users of Ridgeline, including visitors who browse without an account.
Ridgeline is operated by Ridgeline Hunt LLC, an Oregon-registered company. Questions about these Terms can be directed to bryce@ridgelinehunt.com.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Ridgeline. By using the app, you confirm that you are 18 or older. We reserve the right to terminate accounts of users who misrepresent their age.
Your Account
When you create an account, you are responsible for:
- Providing accurate information and keeping it up to date
- Maintaining the security of your password
- All activity that occurs under your account
If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, contact us immediately at bryce@ridgelinehunt.com. We are not liable for losses resulting from unauthorized use of your account.
What Ridgeline Provides
Ridgeline is a hunting companion app that provides gear research tools, draw information, hunt planning features, and curated content from hunting creators. Specifically:
- Gear Database and Broadhead Tool — independent gear data and rankings for research purposes
- Hunt Planner — tools to organize your applications, hunts, gear lists, and notes
- My Gear — personal gear tracking and weight management
- Creator Content — gear lists and content attributed to hunting creators
- Draw Information — general draw odds and license application resources
All content is provided for informational and planning purposes only. Nothing in Ridgeline constitutes professional advice of any kind.
Gear Information and Affiliate Links
Ridgeline’s gear rankings, reviews, and recommendations reflect our independent editorial judgment and links to independent third-party reviews and testing where noted. We are not responsible for errors in gear specifications, availability, or pricing.
Ridgeline participates in affiliate programs. When you click a product link and make a purchase, we may earn a commission. This does not affect the price you pay. Affiliate relationships do not influence our gear rankings or editorial content. Our tiered system — Ridgeline Tested, Ridgeline Pick, Independently Reviewed, and Listed — is disclosed within the app and reflects the basis of each recommendation.
We are not a retailer. All purchases are made through third-party retailers and are subject to their terms, return policies, and customer service. We are not responsible for transactions, product quality, or disputes with retailers.
Hunting Laws and Safety
Hunting is a regulated activity. You are solely responsible for knowing and complying with all applicable federal, state, and local hunting laws and regulations, including licensing requirements, season dates, bag limits, and weapon restrictions.
Ridgeline does not provide legal advice. Draw odds, season information, and regulation summaries in the app are for general reference only and may not reflect the most current regulations. Always verify information with your state wildlife agency before hunting.
You are solely responsible for your safety and the safety of others while hunting. Ridgeline is not liable for any injuries, property damage, or legal violations arising from your hunting activities.
User Content
If Ridgeline allows you to submit content (such as hunt notes, gear lists, or in future features, hunt stories), you retain ownership of that content. By submitting it, you grant Ridgeline a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, display, and use that content to operate and improve the app.
You agree not to submit content that is unlawful, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or that infringes the intellectual property rights of others. We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms.
Prohibited Uses
You agree not to:
- Use Ridgeline for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the app or its underlying systems
- Scrape, crawl, or extract data from the app without written permission
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app
- Use the app to transmit spam, malware, or any harmful code
- Impersonate another person or entity
- Use the app in any way that could damage, disable, or impair its operation
Intellectual Property
All content, design, code, rankings, and branding within Ridgeline — including the Ridgeline name, logo, and the Ridgeline Tested / Ridgeline Pick / Independently Reviewed / Listed tier system — are the property of Ridgeline Hunt LLC and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.
Third-party content (such as creator loadouts and attributed testing data) remains the property of its respective owners and is used with permission or under applicable license.
Third-Party Services and Links
Ridgeline links to third-party websites and services including retailers, state wildlife agencies, and creator content. We do not control these sites and are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or availability. Links do not constitute endorsement beyond what is explicitly stated within the app.
Disclaimers
Ridgeline is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:
- The app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
- Any information in the app is complete, accurate, or current
- The app will meet your specific requirements
Your use of Ridgeline is at your own risk.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ridgeline Hunt LLC and its owners, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app — including but not limited to lost profits, data loss, or personal injury — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms or your use of the app shall not exceed the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (which, during our free tier, is $0).
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ridgeline Hunt LLC and its owners, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the app, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any applicable law.
Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for any violation of these Terms or conduct we determine to be harmful to the app or its users. You may delete your account at any time from Profile, then Delete My Account, or by contacting us at bryce@ridgelinehunt.com.
Upon termination, your right to use the app ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability — will survive.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Oregon, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in that state.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as Ridgeline grows. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and notify you via email or in-app notice. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
